The festival is a yearly event that brings together the creative forces of Phnom Penh to focus on urbanism.  The festival is an opportunity and a platform for creation, discussion and cultivating communities.

OCF12 Theme: URBAN CURRENTS

“Our City Festival 2012 takes as its point of departure the movements within the urban environment: the flows between the people, resources, environment, and landscape of the city within the context of its urbanization and its impact on greater Cambodia.”

We welcome proposals from artists, architects and other sectors that explore ‘urban currents’ as movement, changes, shifts, exchanges in and with the city; affecting its people, structures, environment, culture, society, economy and communication.

To make the program as exciting and challenging as possible, we are interested in ideas from different disciplines and formats: exhibitions, interventions, talks, films, workshops, tours, walks, classes and others!

Please send us 300-500 words (Khmer or English) describing your idea and include the following details:
• Event type (ex: exhibition, performance, film, etc.)
• Possible venue/location
• Organizers/creators
• What kind of support would be required?
• How your idea relates to the theme?
• Your contact details

Participation in the festival is based on relevance with the theme, overall appropriateness for the festival program and available resources.

We will be holding a Programming Workshop on Friday 22nd June, 1.30-4pm at Romeet Gallery. We welcome you to bring your ideas or proposals to a common table to share and discuss them.

In addition to receiving feedback on proposals, the aim is to develop ideas by thinking through venues and other logistics, possible collaborations and act as a connecting point between the projects.
