Artist Anida Yoeu Ali bares all!
As a comment on self-censorship, Anida Yoeu Ali’s most recent performance involved being interviewed by Soma Norodom, the Royal Rebel and host of PUC Radio, while naked. A revealing and humorous performance, the artist talked about a range of issues including Khmer American Exiles, her Fulbright research and family.
In the words of the artist: “Basically I believe in freedom of expression. I believe in standing up for yourself, for others, and for a greater cause. I believe there is nothing more sacred and precious in artmaking than the freedom for self-expression. The other angle on all this is basically I didn’t know what to wear. I was about to meet real royalty so should i wear something formal or informal?”
